Gowan Company Introduces X-tra Strength Avadex BW
for Wild Oat Control
YUMA, Ariz. (Feb. 8, 2006) — Gowan Company announces the launch of X-tra Strength Avadex® BW, a more highly concentrated form of Avadex® BW herbicide. For years, cereal growers have relied on Avadex as their first line of defense against Canada's No. 1 yield robber, wild oats. X-tra Strength Avadex delivers the same efficacy growers have come to expect from Avadex in a convenient, easy to handle formulation.
“Growers appreciate Avadex for controlling wild oats before they get a chance to rob crops of moisture and expensive fertilizer. They understand that this advantage results in higher yields,” said Mark Jessen, Avadex product manager for Gowan Company. “We’re excited to offer growers a product that meets their need for convenient use and handling while continuing to increase their bottom line.”
X-tra Strength Avadex offers several benefits to growers. It offers more active ingredient per liter, which means lower use rates and logistical and warehousing advantages not enjoyed by the granular MicroActiv formulation or the older EC formulation. The new formulation also eliminates the need for specialized granular application equipment. Still another advantage is that X-tra Strength Avadex can be easily impregnated on fertilizer, which allows growers to save a pass across the field by applying their nutrients and herbicide at the same time. Just like the old formulation, using X-tra Strength Avadex allows growers to avoid the worry of having to properly time their POST application.
