Gowan Markets Permit® Herbicide
YUMA, Ariz. (September 1, 2005) — Gowan Company announces Permit® Herbicide as its newest addition to its crop protection portfolio. A familiar brand name with excellent crop safety, Permit Herbicide controls damaging broadleaf weeds and delivers unsurpassed control of nutsedge. Permit Herbicide is registered on field corn, pop corn, sweet corn, rice, grain sorghum, dry beans, fallow ground and cotton (except in Calif.).
Permit is a selective herbicide well known for outstanding postemergent control of tough broadleaf weeds and nutsedge in rice, corn and grain sorghum. Permit can also now be used as a preemergent application on dry beans, a post directed spray on cotton, and has the flexibility of being used until permanent flood is established on rice. Permit’s rates range from ½ to 1 ½ ounces per acre with the typical use rate of 2/3 to 1 ounce.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to market Permit with its unique market fit in these broad acre crops. It is a critical tool for effective control of some very devastating weeds,” said Kory Wheeler, Permit product manager for Gowan Company. “The product is known for its crop safety and application flexibility, plus it has excellent residual control. We will be selling Permit with the same formulation and use rates but more user-friendly packaging. Permit will be easily distinguished in its new purple packaging. Just look for Permit in the purple bottle!”
